Andrey Rublev defaulted from Dubai Tennis Championships
Rublev was disqualified for screaming in the face of a line judge
He will get to keep his ranking points and prize money minus a fine
Andrey Rublev has been disqualified from the Dubai Tennis Championships for screaming in the face of a line judge. The world number five was trailing Alexander Bublik 6-5 in the final set of their match when he was defaulted.
Rublev was angry at a line call that went against him and he let his temper get the best of him. He screamed in the face of the line judge and was then given a code violation. He was given a second code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct and was then defaulted from the match.
Rublev will get to keep his ranking points and prize money minus a fine. He will not be able to compete in the rest of the tournament.
This is the second time that Rublev has been defaulted from a tournament this year. He was also defaulted from the Australian Open in January for hitting a ball into the crowd.
